Show Republicans Nominate W. L Willkie UTILITIES MAGNATE WINS NOMINATION ON THE SIXTH BALLOT The break to Willkie came abruptly ab-ruptly on the last three ballots. Governor Alt M. Landon, the 19-36 19-36 nominee, announced that his Kansas delegation bad swung solidly from Senator Capper to Willkie. On the samev roll call Willkie bagged 75 New York votes, where he had only a few of them before. When the sixth, call of the loll began the race had narrowed down to one between Willkie and Taft, and the latter got away to a lead.
