Show Friends of Miss Amanda Buck, formerly of Smithfield, will be pleased to learn of her enlistment with the WAVES. She has now left for New York city to begin training. Miss Buck attended U. 5.A.C. for two years and was employed at Hill Field in Ogden for two years. Prior to leaving she visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Buck and family of Nampa, Idaho. Mrs. Oliver Nilson was hosetss to the members of her bridge club Friday afternoon at her home. Special invited guests were Mrs. Robert Griffiths, Mrs. Charles Pond of Island Park, Idaho and Mrs. Wallace Raymond. Prizes "was won by Mrs. Martin Roskel-ley. Roskel-ley. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Mrs. Ruth Gregory and children child-ren arrived home Monday, from California where they have spent the past year. Dr. Gregory, who is in the U. S. army, has been transferred. An announcement of interest is that of the marriagei of Miss Jeanette White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. White, to Corporal Robert L. Berry, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Logan of Hennessay, Oklahoma. The bride, who has spent the winter months in Seattle, traveled to Pocatello, Idaho to recite her marriage vows on February 14. Following a visit with the bride's parents and also with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth L. White, in Salt Lake city, the couple left for Amarillo, Texas where the bridegroom is stationed. Mrs. George Weeks entertained at a party at her home Wednesday Wednes-day evening, in honor of Ted Aston, who is leaving for the armed forces Monday. Sixteen .friends of Mr. Aston were included. in-cluded. Te evening was spent in "playing bunco and house afire. Luncheon was served by the hostess. host-ess. Lieutenant Dr. R. L. Smith, who spent a ten-day furlough with his grandmother, Mrs. Laura Smith and other relatives, Teturned to Portland, Oregon on Monday. Miss Lena Smith of Salt Lake city visited with relatives Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Timmons and Mr. and Mrs. John Goodridge, spent Monday at Salt Lake city on business. , Delance Holjeson of Tremonton was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nilson Sunday. Mrs. Golden Sorensen entertained entertain-ed the members of her bridge club Friday afternoon at her home. Special guests were Mrs. William Cooper and Mrs. Lewis ; West. Prizes were won by Mrs. Kernal Toolson and Mrs. Leonard Sorensen. Refreshments were served by the hostess to eight ladies. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Wright of Salt Lake city were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griffiths on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dawson of Rexburg, Idaho are visiting with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Thornley and family. fam-ily. Ray Moseman and son Glen Ray spent the week-end at Salt Lake city on business. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Onley returned re-turned home Monday after spending spend-ing a month with relatives at Pittsburg and Los Angeles, Cal. 'Mrs. , Reed Halverson gave a review of the book, "In the Gospel Gos-pel Net" by John A. Widtsoei, Wednesday evening at the Junior Literary club, at the home of of Mrs. Ray Moseman. A family party was held Sunday Sun-day afternoon in honor of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Mary Weoks, who celebrated her 73rd birthday. Mrs. Weeks received re-ceived many congratulations and beautiful gifts. Contest Winners Ronald Pond, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pond of Lewiston, and Alice Seamons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Seamons of Benson, were nammed winners of the annual Richmond Lion's club oratorical contest, sponsored each year for students at North Oache high school, Miss Gwendella Thornley, speech director, announced an-nounced Thursday.
