Show Five Casualties of War Reported, Four Killed Casualty reports from the war department, during !- the past few days, have included the names of five 'i Cache county servicemen, four killed in action in various va-rious war theaters and the fifth missing in action over Italy. and North Cache high school. Bishop, 26, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert j Bishop of Paradise, and husband of Cheryl Stoddard Bishop, of Richmond, was killed February 22 in action on Corregidor. A new daughter arrived recently at a local hospital for the young couple, and Mrs. Bishop was released re-leased from the hospital Wednesday. Wednes-day. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ray Stoddard of Richmond. Roy Seth Albiston, 19, seaman first class, only son of LeRoy and Ivy Day Albison, of Richmond, was killed in action while in the service of his country. The details were withheld regarding the name of his ship or station but the family learned he had been hur-ied hur-ied at sea with full military honors. , He enlisted in the navy air corps in March, 1943 and was called for training at San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Cal., August 26, 1943. Prominent in ROTC work while at USAC, he was commissioned commis-sioned a second lieutenant in the coast artillery upon graduation. After attaining the rank of first lieutenant in the coast artillery, ar-tillery, he transferred to the air corps and graduated as a pilot in September, 1943. Later he was commissioned a captain. He had been overseas since March 1. .. Private First Class Lyle Wil-ford Wil-ford Hoffman, 26, son of Mrs. Margaret Hoffman, 55 West Fourth North, Logan, was killed March 19 while serving with a combat engineer en-gineer division of the First army in Germany. He was born November 7, 1919 in Logan, a son of Albert and Margaret Cronquist Hoffman, and was educated in Logan schools 111., Norman, Oklahoma, and Bremerton, Brem-erton, Wash. He went out on assignment February 1. He was , born August 25, 1925 at Richmond and lived there until un-til entering the service. While a student at North Cache, he was : one of the youngest students to be admitted to the Boosters club,' was athletic manager, and played football, baseball and participated in other sports. j Survivors include his parents,! one sister, Ardean Albiston, and a grand father, J. H. Albiston, of Richmond. Ivan E. Jones, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones, 835 West Three-Point Avenue, Logan, was killed March 11, in the Philippines while serving with an infantry division. He was born May 21, 1920 in Providence, a son of Tom and Metta Hendrickson Jones. He attended at-tended Logan city schools and had been in the service since March, 1942. He trained in California, Texas and Georgia camps before going overseas one and one-half years ago. Survivors include his parents, one brother and three sisters: Mrs. Darlene May Kaye, Donna Jones and Vivian Jones of Logan, and Private First Class Thomas Jones, Camp Shelby, Miss., and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.
