Show Smithfield Youths Win Free Trip, In State Contest Four winners of the state 4 -H club dairy project contest, Phyllis Tuvpin, Margie Shaw, Barzee (Bak er and Calvin Weeks, have- been onrfrtort trins to the national dairy show at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Penn-sylvania to be held from October 12 to 18th. Lyman Rich, exten-tion exten-tion dairyman, who will accomany them, announces. The boys won over seven competitors com-petitors with a model bull pen they had constructed. The pen is 2 5 feet wide, 80 feet long having red pine posts planted six feet wide to support four, two -by-six planks spaced six inches apart. The shed for the bull provides shelter and storage; is built' 14 feet wide, 16 feet long, 8' feet high with a one-half pitch roof. Blue prints for the project were obtained from the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural College. The girls were awarded their trip on a demonstration of cui-tards. |
