Courses have been adjusted to meet. needs of the war production program by training students adequately ade-quately and speedily, Professor Wall said. A program of short courses for returning servicemen and women to prepare them for employment In post war yeans has been outlined. out-lined. These facilities will also be open to civilian students during the coming school year. Short courses will be offered in filing, stenography, typewriting, accounting, account-ing, and office machines. The complete com-plete curriculum in secretarial science is outlined in the 1944-45 college catalogue, Professor Wall explained. Hundreds of highly skilled students stud-ents from the department have accepted positions as typists, file clerks, secretaries, and stenographers stenograph-ers in the military services, in war industries and government agencies. The new "Flash Card" method of teaching typewriting will be introduced this year by Professor Wall, who recently returned from a study of teaching methods at the University of Southern California. Cali-fornia. Professor Wall declared; "This method teaches students most efficient word-recognition; higher levels of skill, speed, and accuracy are acquire by students when this method of teaching is used." |
