Show awards ruling Is given by activity group school officials have received communications from the officers of the utah high school activities association calling attention to the award rule contained in the bylaws of the state organization following is an excerpt from article IV of the bylaws by laws which makes clear the stand of the illative to the matter of awards section 3 a no reward of any kind having value of more than one dollar other than medals shall be made to players participating in interschool activities b no fabric letter of any kind hind shall be awarded by a school or by any other organization for activities tivi ties nor shall students purchase and wear such letters c any member of the association violating this rule shall be suspended for one year in harmony with this regulation the regional board of managers of region II if have agreed that students present or former displaying the above mentioned block letters or school emblem will not be admitted J to school functions except in cases where they are officially representing the school in a definite school activity eg chebi leaders band members and twirlers twirl ers the local school is anxious to cooperate with the state association and is therefore recommending that if any former students have block letters andor trojan emblems embler ns attached to sweaters or other wearing apparel that the same be removed in order that the standing of their high school in the state association might not be jeopardized anyone appearing appealing at it school functions here heie or a at t neighboring schools with block letters or school emblems will be asked to remove such letters before entering failure to do so will be sufficient cause to refuse admittance to such functions function undoubtedly all former morgan adorgan high school students will be b flad to cooperate |
