Show school children taking in tours of U S air force ogden air materiel area hill air r force orce base if you are wondering what the younger generation is coming to you can stop wondering they are arc coming to hill ai air r force base to be educated as to the whys ghys and wherefores where fors of the base and to be enlightened about various and sundry subjects pertaining to air force activities the groups of youngsters filed about the field in openmouthed open mouthed wonder at the P C and the one my mv da daddy addy foughi fought the japs in those kids are another of the air forces endeavors to inform the public what goes on behind the guards at the gate about as far as the average citizens gets to the inside of an air base in the past week the hill top has been host to three groups of school children ranging in i n size from the third grade variety op en mouthed and big eyed to the high school sp species c cies more gr grown 0 wn up and able to tell the difference between a pat P 47 and a C 47 the first group was from verde land park school layton the second from the layton grade school and the last from ogden high school school the tour of the base consisted of a bus ride from the school to the B 29 20 storage area a ride on the diesel electric train general berman an instructive glance at the radio and weather forecasting the fire department gave a brief brief d demonstration with high pressure pressure fog and coi CO a gaseous form of dry ice coming unexpectedly the COP CO demonstration was quite a surprise the kids scattered in all directions the next surprise was a trip through a B 29 and the highlight of the tour was a complete trip through the museum the anthe trip was summed up by one tiny tots remark boy it sure takes a lot of people to make a plane 11 go |
