glorious countryside the clumps of friendly cottonwoods cotton woods and the open pastures with cows grazing pear peacefully e weye were now passing the farm north of morgan where all the tarns barns are pointed painted a soft greyed grayed blue just the same color as the e curling up in the distance how effective this soft color is on farm building tiding bu in contrast with most of the worn dilapidated barns that have been noted along the way slay do you see the hay piled in rows morgan gorgan valley the beauty spot on the trip so far white and cream colored homes in the distance so friendly with their soft green shutters and painted roofs to see so much beauty tucked my away in the hills makes one stop and realize how far one can travel in one brief year in learning to appreciate preci ate and enjoy beauty in the common place in a new country the family vegetable vege tagle gardens along the railroad track tell of good family planning the neatness of the yards the now back again to green open meadows then we see three farmers raking hay in one field cooperation and evidence of tive sive agricultural interest As the train rounds the bend a new beauty and splendor begins to 10 appear protruding rock ledges the fishing stream then a complete I 1 blackout tunnel a soft whirr chirr over another bridge and into the hills more fishermen fishing in the same stream where three little boys went the day the season opened and came jubilantly home with 9 8 and 2 devils slide and were reminded by a retired railroad man that years ago the railroad used to run special trains to devils slide tor for initiation ceremonies of one organization iza tion children look out excitedly with the comment where did the devil slide to the cement plant and other informed people ln in rural utah and children should grow up knowing how to conserve water to appreciate the essentials of good soil and how to conserve so that it may again produce in abundance A new
