Show Buildings Added to Historical Re Register ister Three more Sanpete County buildings were added recently to the state register of hIstorical historical historical his hIs- sites one In ManU Mantl and the other two In Spring City The three structures listed In Sanpete County are the Parry home In ManU Mantl the Orson Hyde house and Peter Monson house both In Spring City The Pari Parry y home i Is located at 50 North West In ManU Mantl This oolite stone home was built before 1866 by Jezrell and purchased In 1880 by Edward L L. L Parry Mr Parry who was a mason by trade worked on the Salt Lake Temple St. St George Tabernacle Tabernacle Tabernacle Tab Tab- Temple and the ManU Mantl Temple The home which remained In Inthe inthe inthe the Parry family for 81 years Is now owned and occupied by Mr and Mrs Roy G G. G Maynes It Is one of the few remaining pioneer stone homes In that area that Is still stUl being used as a home It was recently restored by the Dallas Pur- Pur cells The Orson Hyde home In Spring City was built between 1852 and 1857 of oolite limestone limestone limestone lime lime- stone and has been changed little since It was built The house Is rectangular In shape two stories high with a full attic Several rooms In the upstairs and attic have the ter-round ter window that seems to be peculiar to that area the he Canute Peterson home In Ephraim Ephraim Eph- Eph raim where the Richard Nib- Nib leys now reside for example As the house was built during a time Ume of repeated Indian at attacks attacks attacks at- at tacks It has a spring In the base basement ment so that the house could be a fortress In time of or trou trou- ble The Peter Monson house In Spring City was built in 1883 of the Spring City limestone and is an excellent example of a large house built by a fairly prosperous man of that time Ume The house is T-shaped T two stories has a double front door It Is surrounded by big bigold bigold bigold old trees and a picket fence |
