Show I Civil Defense Chief Chief Receives Report BLOCK LOCK WARDENS WILL VILL BE BEy y 1 APPOINTED Members of the Manti ManU Civil D Defense De Dc- Council met Wednesday y af afternoon afternoon afternoon af- af to hear the latest report from Wardens and get new instructions instructions instructions from Civil D Defense e f e s nos e Chief Stanley Jorgensen Mr Jorgensen n received the reports from district wardens on their appointments of street wardens appointed to su supervise supervise supervise su- su the different tiers of blocks from Main Street east or west In the Wednesday meeting Mr Jorgensen asked that the street wardens continue the organization of the force by appointing block wardens for each of the blocks bloks in their respective tiers of blocks These block wardens will be in charge of direct dealings with the people in their block and their first duty duly will be to take a survey of their blocks Question sheets will be made available available available a- a to all block wardens Dy ny this week end and they will be expected to survey their blocks and fill out a sheet for each house Information on the sheets will in include include in- in clude elude the address of the dwelling the number of additional people it could house the occupants occupant's preference prefer prefer- ence of people to be housed in an emergency the availability of extra bedding stoves etc The question sheet also asks for the blood ty types s of those living in each house and leaves sp space ce for remarks or sug sug- In asking for the appointment of block wardens Mr Jorgensen told street and district wardens that the appointment of women as block wardens is perfectly all right that they will be capable of handling the duties of such a position With the appointment of over block wardens to go with the specia special special cial cia police fire department medical personnel street and district wardens wardens wardens war war- dens and other officers the Manti ManU Civil Defense Council will be a knit close-knit organization which may number as high as persons and will vill be able to give detailed information information information mation on the city's ability to house refugees and md to to process and handle such refugees in an adequate adequate ade nde- quate manner |
