Show HOMING I 1 ELLS OF UTAH TRAFFIC delinquencies ON EODS the uinta county herald of jan uary 13 has this to say editorially perhaps the crying need or of the day the paramount problem to be solved is the curtailment of high iway traffic fatall fatali les ies in this re deaths on wyoming highways were reduced 31 in 1938 over the previous year but that Is not good enough surely there is a great field tor for reform ahead a mighty need to stop this human slaughter while wyoming was materially deducing reducing the highway hig hiway fatalities our sister state of utah led the nation in deaths on the high highways in pro portion to its population those of us who live on the very border of utah and who make frequent trips to the capital capital have observed a reas on tor for it there is a noti noticeable cable lack ot of cour tesy on the utah highways seldom will a motorist dim his lights they too often crowd an approaching daiv j er to the very edge or oft off the road bed it is not uncommon to see them dodge in and out of the traffic lane and endanger their own lives as well as the lives of other motorists there are many canyon roads but care Is too ofte thrown to the winds and curves are taken at a high rate of speed the above indictment seems cruel but we hear such statements almost dally daily if there Is need of a safety campaign in wyoming there Is in an added need for one in utah with a growing tear fear of our mo tourists will react and tend to I 1 it by not exposing fees to it that Is go elsewhere then it hurts our pocketbook which seems to legister when nothing else will the sentiment wyoma wyoming ng ex 1 I is 1 also held by many in cal yes les there is need tor for im provement pro |
