Show CROP R INGE REPORT salt lake city dec dee 12 1934 steady sub temperatures hav continued without precI pIta tion general y over the state sheep are no now largely on winter ranges doing fairly well there are pat ches of snow for moisture supplies in most sections though some areas are bare cattle are thin excepting those be ing fed hay Is scarce grains re main covered generally from cedar city to cache valley the depth averaging about two inches Li are confined to teed feed yards at logan conditions are favorable for live stock at wellsville grain Is under two inches of snow at bear river city weather condl eions were favorable for range and local livestock tut but hay is scarce recent snows have moved livestock out of the canyons at tooele thoele plow ing was stopped at prove provo livestock feed Is scarce and snow Is two inches deep the river Is frozen over at deseret for the first time in two years there are patches of snow on the ground locally but the range la Is covered livestock are being fed an inch of snow covers the ground evenly at mantl being plen t ty for range livestock feeding has become more general but light cedar city has 2 5 inches of snow on the ground enabling sheep to reach fresher forage but feed is short livestock have shown the ef facts of the cold weather sheep are on the winter range at duchesne range cattle are thin and feeding has become more general with hay scarce the rivers are partly frozen over and pa a trace of snow Is on the ground the desert la Is bare of snow between price and green river no outdoor work at monticello excepting livestock feeding by those for dunate enough to have hay J C alter |
