Show EEK OF UNUSUAL STORM BOTH AND PROFIT RESULT this week has been the stormiest that millard county has experienced in years last saturday a regular cloud burst passed over the county soaking some sections almost equal to a good irrigation and causing every avale swale to be tilled filled with rushing water at cove fort it Is reported that travel was actually stopped on the state highway for several hours although the road was not seriously damaged so heavy was the downpour down pour that drivers viston vision of the road was cut ott off at flo well considerable damage was done the road by flood waters while under the sevier canal project farmers are reported to have used the water that drained into the canal tor for irrigation purposes although the heaviest storm oc cured there has been almost continual storm ever since not a day has passed but there has been storm clouds and electric storms at different places in the valley and on several occasions the whole valley has been dien drenched ched prior to tills this week of storms the season had been exceptionally dry and immediately prior we had experienced perien perlen ced a week of intense heat old timers claimed libat the er was fixing tor for a storm but it has been several years since they have seen so much storm in so short a period it comes however too late to do much good to the general al farm crops this year in fact it la Is doing considerable damage to grain and much ot of the second cutting ot of hay lay which was just being harvested on the other hand it will greatly improve range conditions both on the forest and the desert and it Is believed that it Is ideal weather for the growing ot of alfalfa seed it if these storms effect this latt 4 condition they will be the groat great 1 p boon the county could have |
