Show EXHIBITS AT THU THE COUNTY FAIR ily W it II pedrick the millard county fair held at fillmore sept 6 7 ath held their agricultural and horticultural exhibits at tile old state capitol the building having recently been renovated and repaired the domestic art exhibit which was in charge of mrs ruth howells and mrs airs prudence robinson was on oil the first floor door the exhibits covered a wide range of articles beautifully matte made and tastefully arranged the second floor was taken up by the agricultural and horticultural display from the lie following towns fillmore Fill moro holden oak city and the Su garville district of the north tract on oil the west side there was a representative exhibit of the countes coun tys crops oak city and fillmore Ill more showing fruit equal in quality to any grown anywhere Su Sugar garville vIlIe not being in the horticultural class made an exceptional exhibit of general agriculture consisting of grain toz ago age and root crops mr air smith and mr chamberlain were in charge of Fill mores agricultural exhibit mr dutson and mr air shipley had charge of 0 the oak city display and mr W 11 II Pedric kot Su garville had the north tract exhibit which included many varieties of millet county agent smith of nephi was judge of the exhibits in this department owing to the poor response from many of the communities in the county the exhibit was not as large or as extensive as it might have been however great credit is due those who did take an active part as the exhibit though not as large as expected was ot of exceptional quality the exhibitors and general committee extend to mr smith their appreciation for ills his valuable services the awards for coan community exhibits were as follows first oak city second Su garville third fillmore holden had a display but not sufficient to on oil the same floor with the agricultural exhibits was the display of canned fruits and vegetates vege tabes cakes etc which was in charge of mis alls jos eph smith an educational and instructive tive lecture was delivered by mrs airs maud L drown brown of th the e kerr glass mfg mag co to the ladles ladies while they were viewing this exhibit the U S forest service the fish lake national forest branch had on display specimens of poisonous weeds that are dangerous to livestock also specimens of wild grasses that compose wild pasture mr air lamar price county agent of beaver county was judge in the live stock division in this depart mens exhibits were few mr erick sons herd of quality Hol stellis drew forth admiration and praise from all who visited this department |
