Show CEREMONY HELD AT COVE FORT TUESDAY the largest crowd ever assembled at cove fort saw the dedication ceremony ot of the monument erected there in commemoration ot of the founding of the historical old fort there thera were perhaps 1500 in attendance at the celebration which began in the early afternoon and ended in a dance at night addresses were delivered by pres adent heber J grant odthe L D S church D B S hinckley ot of salt lake edward S hinckley and A A hinckley both of whom were born ju jn the old tort fort henry E deal beal of richfield dedicated tile the monument B 0 cluff presided at the affair music was furnished urnis hed by quartets from richfield and salina A sham battle between indians and cowboys gave some atmosphere of at the early days of the old tort fort in the afternoon a barbecue was held also rodeo and an indian dance the dance in the evening was held inside the walls of the old fort where a dance floor had been laid visitors at the tort fort were much surprised at the improvements that have been added in order to make the fort more attractive to visitors and tourists old residents ot of millard county recall many incidents connected with the fort that made it a spot of 0 special interest to the people of the state and it Is gratifying to know that it will be preserved for its historical significance and that a monument has been erected to call ar ai to these facts commercial organizations of sevier county are responsible for the erection of 0 the monument as well as the arrangements forthe tor the dedication ceremonies |
