The Hippodrome, the home of big spectacles and New York's greatest playhouse, closes its doors for good Saturday and no longer will its audiences, each representing repre-senting hallf the states in the Union, wonder where the diving girls go when they disappear into the huge tank and never are seen from the front to reach the surface.
