POOL- MAKES VERY 15IO SAIF, The sale of more than a million and a quarter pounds of alfalfa seed in a single transaction is announced by the sred marketing association of the I' tali State Farm bureau in connection con-nection with the successful pooling of the 1920 crop of more than 400 individual in-dividual growers. The total amount o-f seed included in the marketing plan, more than two million pounds, represents a farm valuation of $250,-000. $250,-000. x Since the pooling of the alfalfa a:ed began at the close of the harvesting har-vesting season last fall a portion was oh1, in single carload lots. The pool has now been completely cleared in (he tinal sale to Kansas City Seed company of 1.250.000 pounds. The seed, which previously had been cleaned and graded in this city, was in such condition for shipment that twelve carloads were loaded and started east in a single day. Thro an unusual provision obtained by the association, as-sociation, the growers will also participate par-ticipate in any advance n price up to July 1 of this year. The sale just completed has already strengthened the market price from three to live cents per pound, depending on the grade. |
