Show PRACTICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN BE-TWEEN CAPITAL AND LABOR William Green, as president of the American Federation ; of Labor, praises the growth of the spirit of cooperation among employers and organized or-ganized labor. The greater harmony and productivity producti-vity in American industry, and the prosperity flowing therefrom, are due to the attitude of both employers and labor in treating industrial conflicts con-flicts as economic problems rather than political ones. The attitude of cooperation in solving solv-ing these problems along economic lines, or in accordance with economic principles, is a short cut, he said, which avoids going through the field of polities for a solution. It is by keeping industrial problems on an economic basis that good results re-sults are realized. Labor leaders do not become political ones, Neither do employers, generally, go into politics. Both groups prefer to deal together on the basis of the economics involved, and appeal to the govern- ment for its good offices and coopera- tion. |
