Show RED CROSS According to Dr. Thomas E. Green Red Cross national director of sptak-ing sptak-ing service, in his address at the Salt Lake tabernacle Sunday afternoon just preceding the R. C. regional conference con-ference held in Salt Lake last week, "The Red Cross can't stop its work if It would; and should not stop it it it could." In Dr. Green's judgment, as well as tbat of many close to the work, it is perfectly apparent that many do not understand what the Red Cross is. He vry concisely remarked, "Nationally, "Nation-ally, the American Red Cross was created by congress in accordance with the treaty of Genrva, lt dut- 1 ies and responsibilities clearly defined de-fined and set forth in its congressional congression-al charter, not as optional, but as obligatory. ob-ligatory. It is a government agency and must do certain things when so directed by the government." Here is a suggestion worthy of i note, and one which may well be con-! con-! sidered in connection with the things i that have been done and are being I done by Beaver chapter, and the plans that are being outlined for the coming year's additional activity. The chapter is "of and for the people." peo-ple." K. K. Franke, H. S. and Chapter Chap-ter Secretary. |
