Show SHFEP PROFITABLE ON FARM Sheep might well be given greater consideration as farm animals. A small farm flock will regularly provide pro-vide two incomes a year. The lambs are sold in the fall and the wool in the spring, and breeding slock and mutton at all seasons. Sheep keep the farm clean of weeds and much feed on the tarn: that otherwise would go to waste is consumed con-sumed Sheep do not require expensive building, as do some other animals. Freedom from moisture and winds is about all the protection they need. Sheep equalize labor on the farm, requiring least in summer when labor la-bor is scarce and high, and most in winter, when labor is usually plentiful plenti-ful and chef;p. Sheep are more economical producers produc-ers than any other class of domestic meat animals requiring less food for j the production of a pound of gain. |
