Show 6.500 Troops, 100 Planes in Mimic War Washington One hundred planes and Cf00 troops of the Second division divis-ion will participate in the mimic warfare war-fare to be conducted in the vicinity of Kan Antonio, Texas, May 11 to 21. The combined ground and air force maneuvers will bring together the greatest concentration of army aircraft, air-craft, ever assembled In the United States and will also put In the field the only divisional formation of the army in tho country. The maneuvers will be divided into two phases. When tho planes come winging in from their stations in all parts of the country, they will join the Second division for combined operations against an imaginary im-aginary foe, the whole force being under un-der command of Major General Ernest Hinds, commander of the Eighth corps area. The operations will put into practice combat theories, method of intercommunication between the ground and air wings of the combined com-bined force, and staff work for the direction of both wings in a coordinated coor-dinated attack. |
