Show MACCABEES HOLD MEETING The Maccabees of Beaver and Milford Mil-ford held a joint meeting in the I. O. O. F. hall at Milford, April 11, which was one of the largest and tne mo3h successful fraternal meetings ever held! in the southern part of the state. The committee on arrangements consisted of Mrs. Orwln, Mrs. Lynn, and Mrsw Dugan of the W. B. A. and Walter Harris, Henry Jennings and Wallace Ouitzen of Milford, tent No. 2 0 of the Maccabees. The following program was given: Albert Cline, chairman. Community singing. Violin duet by Dr. Charles Par-rish Par-rish and O. F. Hubbell, accompanies by Miss Kohler. Reading Miss Reva Lynn. Vocal solo Mrs. Clarence Grim-shaw. Grim-shaw. Negro monologue Mr. Holman. Saxophone solo Miss. Lillian Stoker, Sto-ker, accompanied by Mis? Kohler. Scenes from the life of Judas Maccabeus, Mac-cabeus, by the dramatic staff of Beaver Bea-ver tent No. 10. The Beaver team and members traveled! a total distance of seventy miles to take part in the meeting, and their work won 'the hearty approval ap-proval of everyone present. Refreshments were served and the evening was completed with dancing. More than one hundred people were nrespnt, a large number being from Beaver. The meeting was to inaugurate a membership drive which will continue con-tinue until June 30th. State Manager T. R. Kelly is offering of-fering a valuable prize to Ihe local lodge securing the largest number of members in the term, and both Braver and Milford feel confident of winning the prize. |
