Show Pinchot Probes Coal Profits Harrisburg. Pa, Governor Pin. chot, successful in his efforts to bring about a settlement of the anthracite controversy, Monday turned his attention at-tention to the question of coal prices. His four-point plan for adjustment ot the differences between anthracite operators and union, miners formed the basis of a proposed new two-year contract agreed upon Saturday night by members of the operators' policy committee and officials of the miners' min-ers' union. He took up the prie? problem in a letter Sunday night to President Coolidge, in which he suggested sug-gested federal and state action toward to-ward readjustment of freight rates on anthracite and announced his own purpose of calling upon the governors of all anthracite coal consuming states to investigate profits of dealers deal-ers in coal, wholesalers, brokers, Jobbers and retailers. |
