Show UREAS! IS REALIZED 7 , WORK IS STARTED 1 Two crews are at work on the ', Pansuitch-Tropic road, one at the the dump and the other at the 1 bottom and the dirt is being moved ' "Puily, The hill will more than like- ! 'J' be completed this fall and winte. . j w'th any kind of weather at all in ! tavor of the contractors. It is mor ! than likely though that the old road I down the hill will have to be useu all winter as the road they are build- , mg now does not hook up with the old road for quite a long ways, but i the difference will be more than ! worth the waiting. When the road now being surveyed survey-ed to Paragoonah and the old Tropie, road is completed, one can start from' Henrieville and go "sailing along" through Panguitch, Paragoonah anu Parowan, all the way to the railroad at Cedar City, and we dare say, one caii leave this section at four o'clock' reach Cedar City, take the night train, secure a sleeper, awake in Salt 1 Lake City, have all day in which to transact business, leave there ac night and be back home the next morning, in time to get in a full day. As it now stands we are compelleu to lose at least three days to make! Salt Lake City on a business trip, as we have to travel all day, spend tho next day transacting business in the city, travel all day coming back, arriving ar-riving the third day all tired out. j We believe that it will be the mos: wonderful thing that has ever been done for this section, and that with the development the U. P. has al-' ready started in this section moruj will come. That railroad is already a heavy! taxpayer in this county, and fromj what we can understand they will do more each year. With tho lodge and cabins they have at Bryce at present, they are unable to care for the traveling trav-eling public, and that they intended to build another hotel that would ac commodate one hundred, then chang: ed their plans for a building thac: would accommodate one hundred fifty, and now they have again chang' ed their plans and will erect a large; modern building that will accommu- fate two- hundred, and will arrange i the building so that it can be enlarg- ed at any time. The U. P. has done' wonders for this section, and will do more as our scenic wonders become known to the hungry tourists that are craving just such , sights that we have to show them. WS certainly hope that our citizens citi-zens grasp the opportunity to raise chickens, vegetables and other prod-t.cts, prod-t.cts, and believe that they will find a ready market for everything right out at Bryce canyon, that is if it will come up to standard and is handled in the right manner. There. is no reason rea-son why our people cannot competo with anyone else in the world, with the stuff that they can raise, and wVj know that a ready market will be found at that place for first-class farm products Garfield County News. |
