C. Love has been quite seriously ser-iously ill, but is now improving. Dr. J. J. Lace, of Salt Lake, is spending a few days here. Adams was here this week visiting the members of her family. Prof. Day is with us looking into the interests of the schools in our city. Mr. A. B. CHne of Salt Lake City, is here looking into his popular and prominent business house. Mrs. J. A. McKay, of Clear Lake, was in Milford Wednesday on a shopping shop-ping trip. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Mr. All McKeon returned from St. George Sunday, where he has been for several weeks. Miss Mollie Utz of Salt Lake City, is in Milford representing Utah Public Pub-lic Health association. She is working work-ing the grade schools up to and including in-cluding the sixth grade. Virgil Cain and J. W. Evans are in Milford. They came down from Ogdon Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Salisbury and Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Mann, of Kansas City, have spent the week in Milford Mil-ford Miss Vada Kincaid spent the last of the week in Beaver the guest of Mrs. Ethel Bradfield. Mis. John McKeon and sons went to Salt Lake Saturday for an extended! extend-ed! visit with her mother. Charley Waters and A. Sharp of Beaver, were business visitors in the city Monday. Mr. and Mrs. B G Clay were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay on Wednesday, en route to Salt Lake on a business trip Mr. John McKeon has leased his farm, lying about a half mile south of town, to Mr. Geo. Harter, of Washington, Wash-ington, for the next five years. Mrs. Harry Yeager went to Salt Lake Wednesday, where she will be the guest of Mrs. Sportsman for a couple of weeks. ' Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Ezra Barton and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Fotheringham, of Beaver, returned Monday. Mrs. E. R. Winnett of Los Angeles wife of Mr. Winnett, the railroad official, of-ficial, was in Milford'. for a couple of days this week. Mrs. Winnett is a charming lady and a prominent club woman of Los Angeles. Clyde Casterline, a former resident of Milford, but now of Caliente, Nevada, Ne-vada, passed through Milford Monday Mon-day en route to Salt Lake, where he will undergo an operation for appendicitis. appen-dicitis. Mr and Mrs. Nolan of Caliente. have moved to Milford to make their home. Mr. Nolan is employed as fireman fire-man on the Union Pacific railroad. There'll be dances for young and old at the L. D. S. church Thursday evening, February 1. George Mitchell, of Beaver, was a business visitor in Mjlford the first of the week. Mrs. R. E. Hunter returned from Salt Lake Thursday, where she has been taking medical treatment. Remember the dance at the L. D. S. meeting house, February 1. Benefit Bene-fit the Sunday School. Mr. Steve Stoker returned Thursday Thurs-day night from St. George, where he accompanied Mr. Phil Orwin. The S. B. A. Cook, who' has been in Milford for the past two or three months, returned Tuesday from Salt Lake with his family. They will' make their home here for a time. Mrs. Leland Silver entertained at a kensington Friday afternoon at her home. Sewing was the principal pastime and a dainty luncheon was served. Those present were: Mrs. Jo Kinney, Mrs. Grimshaw, Mrs. Clark Kesler, Mrs. Geo. Fernley, Mrs. Mc-Carty Mc-Carty and Mrs. Chas. Newhart. Mrs. H. L. Coon will leave for Grace, Idaho, Friday evening where she goes to join her husband. Mrs. Leslie Clay spent the first of the week at the Telluride plant, the guest of Mrs. LeRoy Fournier. Christian Science Church will hold their regular services Sunday morning, morn-ing, January 28, at 11 o'clock. Subject: Sub-ject: "Truth." Mr. and Mrs. George Serle, of Needles, California, spent several days here last week, visiting old friends. Mr. Serle is now master mechanic at Needles. A seagull meeting was held on January 19, at Eva Bowman's home Fourteen Seagull girls were present and two invited guests. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. pres-ent. Mr. and Mrs. Harry VanQuill, former for-mer residents of Milford, now of Salt Lake, are the proud parents of a fine baby boy, born to them on January 2 5. Also the father's birthday. Mother and babe doing nicely. Mrs. VanQuill was formerly Miss Alta Edwards. Ed-wards. Howard, Bert and Clyde Blanpied were very much pleased on arriving in Salt Lake, that they were just in time for the beginning of the second semester, at West high, where they have entered school. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Blanpied, who have been residents of Milford for many years past, and where Mr. BlanpiedJ' has been in the employ of the railroad, as engineer, have sold their beautiful residence here and purchased a home in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Blanpied, who left for their new home in Salt Lake, Sunday, have many friends who regret to learn of their 'departure, but wish them all success. The quilts which have been on display dis-play at the Kesler feed store and the Milford Pharmacy were presented at the S. B. A. social Thursday night. The pink c-no went to Mx. Skinner, and the white one to W. Dawson. Mrs Phil Orwin making the presentation speech. Miss Fern Jennings gave a line party at the Victory theatre Saturday Satur-day night, to which she invited the following classmates and friends: Dorothy. Bailey, Margaret Cochrane, Thelma Rogers, Leona Sherwood, Vio let Shaffer, Georgia Shaffer, Betty Murdock, Marjory Marksheffel, Reba Korrus, Elva and Luzine Jennings. The S. B. A. held their regular social so-cial Thursday evening of this week at their hall a Kangaroo party. Dancing and games were the principal princi-pal pastime and luncheon was served at midnight. A large crowd was in attendance, and all reported a very pleasant evening. The following program was rendered: Piano solo, Mrs. Joe Tribole; Rev. R. D. Zook gave a short talk of the Parents and Teachers' association; piano and sax-aphone sax-aphone duet, Ruth Elmer and Lillian Lil-lian Stoker; reading. Mrs. L. B. Bohn piano solo, Mercy Orwin; piano duet, Mrs. Joe Tribole and Mrs. Ray Out-zen. |
