Show ODD FELLOWS ANNIVERSARY At the high school last Sunday night the Milford Lodge of I. O. O. F. met, and celebrated t,he one hundred hun-dred and second anniversary of the Order in America. The Rebekahs as well as Odd Fellows Fel-lows met at. their hall at 7:30 p. m. and marched in regalia to the place of meeting. Pink and white carnations were the decorations in the hall, and were also worn by all members. Intermingled with the ritualistic ceremonies were musical numbers by the following: Violin Solo Prof. Christensen. Song by the Railroad Men's quartet. quar-tet. Song by the Rebekahs Saxophone duet Mrs. Duflin and Lillian Stoker, accompanied by Mrs. Win. Dobson. The following Odd Fellows took part in the special ceremonies: Brothers Ross, Zook, McErn, Samuel Sam-uel Cline, Robert Sherwood, R. F. Cottrell, Fred Jefferson and Coch-rane. Coch-rane. Although the service was not for the purpose of enterfa-uiment the musical numbers were enmyrd and nppreciated by everybody pi?sent. The meeting very successfully car-vied car-vied home its purpose and object to : 11 present While i's purpose was to . celebrate Hie niinivernry of the Grand Old Order, it iv.s also intended intend-ed to correct certain i i'"i"dicee;known 'o be held against this and o'her orders, or-ders, because of ignorance of what the Order really is. The ceremonies ' .brought out very plainly the fact hat no man need he any lesa loyal to his God church, notion or family because of his union with the organization. organ-ization. On the other hand, If he is true to his order, he will bo more helpful in all these other lines. , It is not felt that any of the many who climbed the hill, went away disappointed dis-appointed n what they saw and heard That was fine for the first attempt of the kind boys, do it again next ye:ir. - |
