Show Congress Ends Vacation Washington Its Christmas vacation over, Congress returned to the capitol to face a legislative task that must be tackled with coats off and sleeves rolled roll-ed up if it is to be completed in the bare two months that remain of the present session. The senate with the impending fight over the seating of Frank L. Smitli of Illinois, has the harder job, but the house probably will fmd little time in which to twiddle its thumbs. The fight against Smith, based bas-ed on his part in the million dpllar Illinois Ill-inois primary of last spring, it is not expected to break before the mddle of the week when the senator-designate arrives in Washington. In the meantime, mean-time, however, both sides undoubtedly will formulate plans for the approaching approach-ing battle. |
