Show LOCALS and PERSONALS Mrs. George Fernley and Mrs. At Cliue entertained at bridge Monday afternoon at the Fernley home in honor of Mrs. Fernley's sister, Mrs. ('has. Newhart of Los Angeles, Cal. Mrs. Myron Lewis won high prize and Miss Grace Smurthwaite of Salt Lake City won consolation prize. A delicious luncheon was served to the following: Mrs. C. R. Parrish, Mrs. Vernon Johnson, Mrs. Myron Lewis, Mrs. Jos R. Murdock, Mrs. C. C Sloan, Mrs. Chas. Moore, Mrs. Alvin Baker, Mrs. Ernia Gillies, Mrs. Clark Kesler and Miss Grace Smurthwaite Smur-thwaite of Salt Lake. Miss Katherine Skeele, who has been spending the past two years in Europe studying oil painting, arrived here Tuesday to visit her sister, Mrs. Addison Bybee and family for several sever-al weeks. She is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A. F. Skeele of Monrovia, Mon-rovia, California. Miss Skeele is delighted de-lighted with our beautiful mountain scenery and has already unpacked her paints and brushes to begin sketching sketch-ing and painting. Miss Grace Smurthwaite of Salt Lake City, is here visiting Mrs. Erma Gillies and friends. Mrs. D. M. Affleck of Logan, was the guest of her son this past week. John C. Smith and daughter Olean, of Sallt Lake, were in Milford this past week. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Anderson of Manti, and Miss May Anderson weie here Thursday. Morgan Evans was in from Gold-springs, Gold-springs, Nevada, Friday. Chas. A. Poulson of Los Angeles, . was with us again this past week. Mr. and Mrs. G S Quate of Garrison, Garri-son, were here this week. Mrs. Quate was here for dental work. Mrs. T. C. Jenson of Mt. Pleasant, and her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Sted-man Sted-man of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Stedman, Stanley D. Sill, and Franz Brother-sen Brother-sen of Mt. Pleasant, were all here this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlson arrived ar-rived here last Saturday from Con-nectticutt Con-nectticutt to visit their sister-in-law, Mrs. Vic Carlon and family. Mrs. Walter Jame of Black Rock, spent from Thursday of last week until Sunday here visiting her old friend and neighbor, Mrs. Mattie Armstrong. N. P. Ipson and son Don, of Salt Lake City, spent Friday here with Mr. and Mrs. Eph Smith. The? had been spending the week at Beaver, their former home. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wade of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Wm. Blackner of Beaver, and Mrs. John Horton of Milford, were dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Heslington of Sourh Milford, Sunday. Mrs. Mary Tattersall and mother, Mrs. Belle Reese and Mrs. Lorena Burrdge, motored over from Beaver Monday afternoon to attend tha trouseau tea given in honor of Miss Jeanette Skinner. Bishop Eyre of Minersville was in town Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Finchman of Clay Center, Kansas, arrived here Sunday to spend a few days visiting his aunt, Mrs. Wm. Cook and family. Mrs. E. T. Morrison from Pamono, California, visited here Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cot-trell Cot-trell and .Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cook. She was enroute to St. Joseph, Missouri Miss-ouri Steve Harris has been working at the U. P. depot in Cedar City this past week. Miss Frances Sloan was the dinner din-ner guest of Miss Ethel Stanley, Monday. Mrs. Qarles Newhart of Los Angeles, California, arrived here on a business trip and spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lang. She states that Mr. Newhart is feeling much better than when they left here. Miss Betty Murdock1 spent the week end at Beaver visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. U. Murdock. Miss Dorothy Murdock left Monday Mon-day afternoon for Westminister College Col-lege at Salt Lake City. We are glad to state that Henry Jennings who underwent a serious operation at the hospital the forepart of last week, is getting along fine and was able to be removed to his home Tuesday. He will be confined to his bed for everal weeks and will be glad to have his friends call and visit with him. Dr. E. R- Lambertson and family arrived here from Baker, Nev., en route to Los Angeles, to make their future home. I |
