Show o 1 A MUCH MALINGED MAN WAS OLD SITTING BULL Popular history has written down Sitting Bull, the great Sioux Indian medicine man, as a bloodthirsty and trouble-making old scamp who j should have been killed long before i he was. But, as is often the mase, popular history is full of error and j the final verdict on Sitting Bull, which yet remains to be written, may . be a very different one. American Indian day, which is be-i be-i ing observed in many states on Sept. 23, has a special interest this year, because of the announcement that Sitting Bull is to be there subject of a contest conducted by a South Dakota Dako-ta poetry magazine. This contest is the basis of a feature article, "Totanka Yotanka," by Elma Scott Watson, in this issue of the Beaver County News.
