Show Pershing Sends Tribute to Roosevelt. Oyster Bay, N. Y. A letter from General Pershing was among the scores of missives received from France during the past few days offering offer-ing condolence on the death of Lieut. Quentin Roosevelt and telling of his bravery aud the admiration in which the writer held him. General Pershing's Per-shing's letter said in part: "Quentin died as he had lived and served nobly and unselfishly, in the full strength and vigor of his youth, fighting fight-ing the enemy in clean combat. You may well be proud of your gift to the nation in his supreme sacrifice. "Enclosed is a copy of his official record in the air service. The brevity and curtuess of the official words point clearly the picture of his service, which was an honor to all of us." |
