Show Mrs. Art Turner came down from Salt Lake City last week for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Gillins, and other friends. H. C. King oi Caliente was in Milford Mil-ford Tuesday visiting friends and made this office a pleasant call. Mr. King made his home in Milford for a number of years. A. A. Hilliary and Mrs. Stanch-field Stanch-field left Wednesday evening for a visit in Long Beach, California. Mr. Hilliary has a ten-day lay-off from his duties as express agent. News has been received in Milford of the birth of a son, last Monday, August 5th, to Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams of Provo, but formerly of Milford. Rev. E. E. Mork will preach in the M. E. church morning and evening even-ing of August 18th. Everybody invited in-vited to attend. Dr. Lace expects to be here to preach on August 25th. W. F. Cottrell left Wednesday night for Los Angeles, where he goes to- take special instruction along the line of efficiency, electric coupling of cars, etc. He will probably be away for two weeks. Joe Tribole, who has been with the Jefferson Mercantile Co. for a number 'of years as clerk, has resigned re-signed and went to work Wednesday for the Salt Lake Route on the job of car repairer and inspector. Mrs. J. A. Lemmon and son Russell Rus-sell left Monday night for Salt Lake City, where they expect to make their home. Mr. Lemmon has been working work-ing there for some time, and Miss Nita has been taking hospital training train-ing there for nearly two years. The family has been living on the project for over three years. Last Friday Everett Bryans and several other boys were playing out at the willows east of town. Everett was trying to cut a strap with a knife when in some way the knife slipped and cut the upper part of his eyeball. Serious consequences were feared and his mother took him to Los Angeles that night for treatment. treat-ment. Mrs. G. H'. Fennemore is here visiting vis-iting her sister Mrs. L. Harrington for a few days on her way home from the City, where she has been visiting her daughters and friends. She motored mo-tored to Salt Lake City with John Ryan and family by way of Beaver highway. She reports the roads in fine condition and that she had a very enjoyable trip. Sirs. D. W. Halton and Mrs. A. H. Dahle received word of the safe arrival ar-rival in France of their brother. Sergeant Ser-geant J. Earl Booth, of Ogden. Sergeant Ser-geant Booth has been In training at Camp Lewis since October. 1917, and sailed for France July 5. leaving wife and small heir at Ogden. |
