Show ' D. D. Carlton came over from Bea ver Monday for a few days visit wlti his son Karl Carlton. Mr. and Mrs Carlton are here from Riverside, Cal for a few months. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Baxter and lit fie Virginia left Sunday night foi Salt Lake where they will remali during the special session of tho legislature. Mrs. Frank Calloway went to Salt Lake City Sunday night. She was accompanied by her brother. Vivian Duffin of Las Vegas, Nevada, who had been here for a short time. Mrs. W. F. Cottrell received word this week from the Rev and Mrs. D E Carter, of Ostrander. Washington, of the former's appointment to go to Seward, Alaska. The Carters are well known in Milford, having lived liv-ed in this city a number of years . ago. Rev. Carter was one of the pioneers among Methodist ministers in 1'tah. They have boon living the past three years in Ostrander, Washington. Wash-ington. Roy Martin and Frank Murray, who were In the county Jail at I ver waiting trial, broke jail early Tuesday morning and have not been found. They took the big door off its hinges and walked out. The men were charged with robbing the store at Newhouse last week. They had their preliminary trial before Judge Nichols last week and were bound oV or to tho District court. Miss Hot tie T. Amsdell, a Field supervisor from fhe Division office of the American Rod Cross, has been In Milford for the last week working work-ing in tho interests if home service. The Red Cross has a great responsibility responsi-bility today in relation to tho returned re-turned soldiers who suffered Injury or illness during service. While she was hero Miss Amsdell aroused In the local Red Cross people a greater great-er sense of their responsibility In the problems that arise with the return of tho men to civilian life. A Home service committee was organized, with Mr. Will Dobson as Chairman, and Mrs. Dobson as secretary. Everyone Ev-eryone can help by reporting to Mr. or Mrs. Dobson the names of any returned re-turned men who are in need of any information or service which the Red j Cross can render. I |
