Show CHANCE TO GET EASTERN COIN One of the most enthusiastic meetings meet-ings ever held in Milford was held Tuesday night in the offices of Jor-genson Jor-genson & Company. The calling of the meeting was on short notice owing ow-ing (to a slight misunderstanding, however quite a good representation of business and mining men were present. Another meeting, by special spec-ial request of the commercial club will be held in the opera house, Friday Fri-day night, October 3 at 8:30 sharp. This meeting was for the purpose of securing for Milford a good proportion pro-portion of Eastern capital for the development of our mineral resources. resour-ces. Every man present was greatly pleased with the plans of the Western States Development Association and the chance of Milford becoming one of the units of the organization. The meeting was called to order by President Pearson of the Commercial Com-mercial Club who stated the objects and then introduced Mr. Lee M. Bro-kaw, Bro-kaw, one of the leaders in the or-. or-. ganization. President Pearson stated stat-ed that the organization was highly endorsed by banking and public officials, of-ficials, and that the plans appealed to him as being just what Beaver county wanted. Mr. Brokaw then explained the plans and the methods of business to be followed, among other things he called our attention to the things that had contributed to the general decline in mining interests by investors. inves-tors. He pointed out that the only thing that could bring development about was a co-operative spirit on the part of the business and minir," men in such districts as the Association Associa-tion could take into the organization. .The capital for mining operations must come out of the East, but the management must come out of the West, and especially those districts where development is needed. The prime object of the organization is to do away with the wildcat promotion promo-tion methods and substitute in their place legitimate business methods, protect the investor, and if mining can be made to pay at all, it can be tfnade profitable in this manner. The organization will have within a very short space of time, enough capital so that around $20,000 to $30,000 a month can be assigned to this district, dis-trict, provided enough men of this district can be found who will undertake un-dertake to see a fair square deal given to investors. All this means a market for our opportunities and prospects. It also means a permanent development campaign, increased business of every ev-ery sort, a great number of men to be employed and activity of the old time sort. Is Milford interested in this? From the enthusiasm displayed and from the opinion of the plans of the organization as expressed by some of our real leaders, there pan be but one answer made and that is . that Milford is not going to be slow in grasping the opportunity offered. Mining promotion is being placed on a legitimate basis for all time to come, the organizations endorsement endorse-ment of any prospect will give it all tho capital needed. The inventors are assured of a profit from the general gen-eral average of property developed When they actually get profits from an organization that handles t money, that organization will have difficulty in using the quantities that will be waiting for investment. We know that solid organizations do not fall, and tho management of this one could not be better. A large crowd is expected to be present at the Friday night meeting j Money is the one thing we are all very vitally interested in and this coming meeting will he of great interest in-terest to those who can figure how they can make money when mining activity Is brought to its highest max imum. We know (here is no better mineralized county in the west thnn our own. and knowing this we would be losing the greatest opportunity ever offered if we do not all get into this to the very limit. When the right thing comes along there are as many live wires in Milford as ran be found In any western town our own size. Now seems to be the right time to get things started as we all want them. The metal markets are all on the climb, especially silver and great trains of ore going out of our ! district would bring a smile to every . face in the county. i Let's all be at the opera house Friday Fri-day night, ready to show this Asso- j nation that we are going after a I membership in it for all we are worth ' |
