Show PROCEEDINGS ! TOWN BOARD Present at the meeting Ed Mark- ' sheffel. E. T. Martin, C. J. Mclntire,; H. T. Hanks and P. J. Evans. Absent: None. Minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion seconded and carried, were approved and signed by the presidentof the board. Mrs. W. R. Martin appeared be-" be-" fore the board with a request that a permit to move several buildings into town be given her. She submitted submit-ted an outline of a plan for the remodeling re-modeling of these buildings and requested re-quested that the board allow her to improve her lots in accordance with same. Mr. Fred Jefferson as representative representa-tive of the property owners in the same neighborhood as Mrs. Martin, protested the moving of that class of buildings in the town, and asked that the board refuse Mrs. Martin a permit. After hearing the matter discussed discuss-ed by all parties interested, the Board referred the matter to the building inspector, and instructed him to see that the Ordinances relating re-lating to buildings were lived up to in everv respect. It was regularly moved and seconded sec-onded that the complaint filed against. again-st. Mr. and Mrs. Martin be withdrawn with-drawn for two weeks in order to give them time to either change the plans or remove the buildings from the town. Motion carried. Mr. Roy Rogers appeared before the board in the matter of a. license for dances at the high school building. build-ing. He was instructed that a license li-cense must be obtained for all dancer danc-er held at the high school under the present arrangement of receipts being be-ing divided between the musicians and the school board. On motion duly seconded and carried, car-ried, the petition of the Los Angeles Angel-es & Salt Lake Railroad company, for permission to connect their station sta-tion and lunch room with the Town sewer, was granted, with the pro-j vision that all the houses in the com pany row be connected with the sewer sew-er at the same time, and the further provision that a proper grease track be installed in the railroad eating house and station. The communication from the Board of Education regarding the water supply of the Grade and High School buildings in Milford. was read. The clerk was instructed to write Mr. Wm. Hurst, president of the board of education, explaining the water situation in the Town of Milford. and if possible, arrive at some definite conclusion as to the supply of water for the swimming tank in the high school. It was regularly reg-ularly moved and seconded that the application of the School Board for permission to connect the grade school with the town sewer system, be granted with the following stipulation. stip-ulation. That the entire sewer line from the high school as well as tne new grade school buildings become the property of the town. Motion carried. The clerk was instructed to take this matter of sewer connection up with the school board and fully explain ex-plain the action taken by the board of trustees. On motion duly seconded and carried car-ried the president of the board of trustees and the clerk of the board : were authorized to sign an agree-, agree-, ment between the Town of Milford and the Salt Lake and Los Angeles Railroad company relating to the connection of the water systems of the two parties for use in case of emergency. Captain Clegg Butt of the New West Magazine Inc. requested by letter that the board of trustees give some financial support to the publicity pub-licity scheme undertaken by Ihe Milford Mil-ford commercial club. It was regularly regu-larly moved and seconded that the town board purchase one page in the New West Magazine, and that suitable suita-ble copy giving facts and figures relative re-lative to Milford be printed thereon over the signatures of the board of trustees. Motion carried. It was regularly moved and seconded sec-onded that Mr. C. J. Mclntire and Mr. C. T. Martin be appointed a com mittee to purchase from Mr. E. Fou-tz. Fou-tz. a piece of ground for street purposes, pur-poses, and that said purchase price must not exceed $125. Motion carried. car-ried. The clerk was instructed to notify noti-fy the people of the town through the newspaper that all weeds must be cut down and hurned, or otherwise other-wise removed from the limits of the town. On motion duly seconded and carried car-ried the board of trustees voted to supply Mrs. Julia A. Smithson with water for ordinary purposes providing provid-ing Mrs. Smithson Installed at her own expense the necessary pipeline from Mr. C. T. Woodbury's residence to her own property. Installation of this line to be under the direction of the town marshal. Mr', Wentz talked to the board of trustees on the matter of fire fight ing apparatus, and fire department. He was asked to submit for the information in-formation of the board, figures as to the cost of equipment necessary and was promised all help possible by the board. Mr. H. T, Hanks tendered his resignation re-signation as a member of the board of trustees, to take effect Immediate ly. On motion duly seconded and certified, the resignation of Mr. Hanks was accepted, and the following follow-ing resolution written In the minutes minu-tes of the meeting, and a copy sent to Mr. Hanks. Motion carried. "Whereas, owing to the intended departure of H. T. Hanks from the Town of Milford, he has seen fit to resign as a member of the board of trustees, and the resignation has been accepted; and "Whereas, Mr. Hanks has long! been an Important factor in the upbuilding up-building and elevation of our town, and has always maintained toward the town and its citizens, a sincere desire for its welfare and betterment; better-ment; and Whereas, it Is with sincere regret that the resignation of Mr. Hanks must 6"e accepted, and with certain knowledge that his loss as a citizen in Hie town, and a member of this body will be our loss. Now, therefore, be It resolved that we hereby extend to Mr. Hanks the thanks of the board of trustees for his invaluable service rendered us, as a member thereof, and that we extend to him our best wishes for his future welfare and prosperity; and be it resolved that this resolution resolu-tion be embodied on the minutes of this board and a copy presented to him." On a motion by Mr. P. J. Evans, seconded by Mr. C. J. Mclntire. Mr. D. A. Baxter was appointed a member mem-ber of the board of trustees of the Town of Milford to complete the unexpired un-expired term of Mr. H. T. Hanks, resigned. re-signed. Motion carried. Vote showed three for and none against. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. |
