The Democratic convention at San Francisco, concluded its labors Tuesday by nominating Governor James M. Cox of Ohio, for president on the 44th ballot and; Franklin Roosevel.t assistant secretary of the navy, from New York was nominated nominat-ed for Vice President. I Cox, like Harding, the Republican nominee, is a newspaper man and both are very popular in Ohio. Cox was the Tamany choice of the convention con-vention and he was also supported by the wet element of his party and was bitterly opposed by the Hobson-Bryan Hobson-Bryan prohibition faction. |
