Show MIXERS VI I. LE NEWS R. H. Strickland of Beaver was the speaker at a meeting held on March 27, to discuss the third Liberty Lib-erty Loan. He also explained the manner in which the apportionment expected from each individual is de- termined. I The Minersvillp school students are continuing their efforts to purchase pur-chase Thrift Stamps. Ninety-four per cent of the students have bought stamps. The total amount spent for stamps by school students Is now $595.13. The fourth grade has the greatest number of stamps, having so invested $150. The third and fourth grades have sent east for seed for war gardens. The order was for almost eight dollars' dol-lars' worth of seeds. Mr, and Mrs. Ephraim Mecham and family left this week for Lake ' Fork, in. Uinta county, where they will spend the summer on Mr. Mech-am's Mech-am's farm. Mrs. Wm. Roberts spent the week end in Cedar with her daughter, Mrs. Ray Thomas, who is rejoicing in the arrival of a little son. The Parents' class of the Sunday school gave a very enjoyable dance to the parents of the town and the Sunday school officers and teachers on Thursday night last week. All entered heartily into the dancing, which included many old favorites, waltzes, two-steps, quadrilles and Virginia reels. A program was given during the evening, and apples and punch were served to the guests. The high school Easter dance held last Friday night was also a farewell party for Don Llghtner, who was called to appear at Milford Saturday to leave for American Lake. The hall was decorated in apple blossoms blos-soms of crepe paper. A short program pro-gram was given, ending with the presentation pre-sentation of the net proceeds, $11.25. to the guest of honor by Josiah Osborne, Os-borne, Jr. Following this the sixth grade girls served fruit salad and wafers to all present. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Dotson entertained enter-tained at a very pleasant party last Saturday evening. One amusing feature was a "photograph gallery" where the silhouettes of the guests were exhibited for Identification. After the games a dainty Easter supper sup-per was served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. I.Iarshall Jr., W. A. Joseph, E. A. Criffiths, Geo. R. -Williams, E. N. Larsen and the Misses Edith Axtens, Ida Bracken, Joyce Kling, Martha Meldrum, Frances Yeomans and Ev3 Stoddard. |
