The above company maintains an icing plant at Milford, description as follows: platform 500 feet in length, capacity for ten cars1000 feet of endless chain (or conveyer) for hoisting and distributing ice to top of platform; 15 horsepower motor; ice house capacity for storage, 60 tons; number cars iced Nov. 1, 1916, to Oct. 31, 1917 3S02; total tons ice used, 2095; total tons salt used, 3; pay roll for year, $10,775.25. All the ice used for the above plant is shipped from their ice manufacturing man-ufacturing plant located at Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nevada. During the fruit season there is a large force of men employed by this company. This pay roll is spent entirely en-tirely in Milford. American Express Co. A. A. Hilliary, Agent Fred W. Dunston. messenger and transfer clerk. The American Express Co. does a j very heavy business in and out of J Milford. Their business covers a j radius of more than one hundred ! miles of Milford. taking in such ! places as Beaver, the county seat; Minersville and many oth&r poinu located along the Frisco branch. Whjle this pay roll is not as large as some other departments, the money is spent with the merchants of Milford. Water Service Department J. E. Winn, General Foreman A. J. Y'oung, Bert Eldridge, ,Geo. Scottr Ed. Underhill, Will Gibson. - Mr. .Winn's territory covers between be-tween Clear Lake and Pioche. This department makes its headquarters head-quarters at Milford. It has a monthly month-ly pay roll of $500, the greater, part of which is spent in Milford. ROSTER S. L. R. LUNCH ROOM Manager Davis has a local pay roll amounting to about $700 per month. This money is to a great extent spent in Milford. There never was a time whenthe Salt Lake Route lunch room was managed as it is today under the direct di-rect supervision' of Manager David. Service is what Manager David has put in action since he took charge. All are treated alike and Manager David can be approached by his employes em-ployes at any time. - We hope that Manager David will not be taken away from us and that he will have the honor of opening the new dining and lunch room in the near future. . Wood, Chief Clerk ' Mr. Adams has under his supervision super-vision in Milford three section foremen fore-men with a yearly average of twenty men, the majority of whom are heads of families, and in some Instances In-stances the families are mighty darn big ones, which again shows what class of crops may be raised in Milford Mil-ford and vicinity. Roadmaster Evans has just completed com-pleted under his supervision the sugar track at Delta, which completed com-pleted his 1917 budget. To those who do not know both Mr. Adams and Mr. Wood, it will be worth your while to get acquainted with these gentlemen. |
