Show PROF HICKMAN" LECTURES ON I'KOPHECY The lecture of Prof. Hickman at the L. D. S. church last Sunday evening furnishes food for serious thought in the light of the world happenings of the present day. Prof. Hickman called attention to the fulfillment of Bible prophecies in the war events of Europe. The Professor declared that "Prophecy is more accurate ac-curate than history." Historians disagree. The historians of yesterday yester-day are discredited by those of today. to-day. But the prophecies of the Bible are fulfilled to the letter. John's reference ref-erence to the flocks of great locusts having the faces of men with shields of metal and which should rise above the smoke of battles, which should not eat grass or trees, but which would with their stinging Jails be a menace to men, as the flocks of present day airc-planes over the battlefields. The kaiser was also al-so recognized as the heartless though forceful ruler who should extend his intrigue and menace to every nation na-tion of the world. Bishop Burns presided and H. IT. Pitchforth offered the invocation. A choir of mixed voices rendered several patriotic selections. Miss Galnour sang Tosti's "Goodbye" "Good-bye" in her usual good voice - and pleasing manner. Mrs. Greenwood read Mrs. Smith-son's Smith-son's touching poem "O Boy - O' Mine" with charming expression. The lecture was well attended and we are informed that an effort is being be-ing made to secure Prof. Hickman I for a course of lectures on kindred topics. |
