Show IIARKY KEITH The following letter has been received re-ceived by .Mrs. Keith from one of her son'scomrades on the battle-front. battle-front. Decern her 27, 1918 Mrs. C. I). Keith: Vours or the 8th of November in regard to the death of Harry Keith, was received today. The first sergeant ser-geant gave it to me and asked me to write to you about it as I knew more than anyone else in the company com-pany about his death. He was killed on the 8th day of Oclober, 1018 on the Verdun front. We were in reserve just back of the lines and were dug in. Every ''ad a small hole dug deep enough en-ough to protect him from the shrapnel shrap-nel at about ten o'clock in the forenoon fore-noon the Germans commenced shelling shell-ing us. One shell struck in the edge of Harry's dugout and threw him out '.'illing him instantly. I was within with-in a few feet of him and ran over to him hut he was dead when I got there. , His body lies there in a small enclosed en-closed place, with a number c er American boys who met death in the fighting at that point. It is located lo-cated a short distance north of the city of Verdun. He had enjoyed good health up o that time and was well liked by evervnne in "the comnnnv He was always ready to do b-' duty at any time and when we hit be front was ready to go after the Huns.
