Card day yard engine foreman, fore-man, was slightly injured about a week ago and is being relieved by Switchman Thompson. We expect Jack to be on duty again In a few days. Since government supplement No. 13 went into effect, the telegraph forces in all offices along the road have been cut down on Sundays. In Caliente the boys have been alternating, alternat-ing, taking Sunday off turn about. Mr. Wallace, formerly cashier at Delta, assumed the duties of day yard clerk today. He relieved Johnstone John-stone who had been on the job for a long time. We have a new General Manager on the Pioche branch and he is none other than Conductor W. C. Ernst. Conductor Tolbert has been away since about the 18th of January, but his run is in good hands while Conductor Con-ductor Ernst watches over it. Mrs. Eliza Culverwell, one of Cal-iente's Cal-iente's oldest citizens died last week in Los Angeles. She had been fail ing in health for some time and the end was not unexpected. The funeral fun-eral took place in Caliente February 17th, attended by many friends from all parts of the county. The deceased deceas-ed was the mother of Charles, Billy; and Amy Culverwell and Mrs. Alice j Dixon. - - Mrs. Geo. E. Coxe of Hanover, N. M., John F. Roeder, undersheriff of ' Pioche, Charles Culverwell of Plo-che Plo-che and a number of other prominent promin-ent people were in town Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. E. A. Cul-verweli. Cul-verweli. B. L. Welker Jr.. second trick op- L erator took his first degree in Masonry Mas-onry at Pioche on Saturday Feb. 8th. He managed to ride the goat without any serious mishap and was able to be back at work Monday afternoon. |
