Show AX APPEAL ! To the Republicans of the County and all those who aided them: The Republican success in the 19-i 19-i 2U election has been commensurate i with the quality of our candidates, and righteousness of our cause. This success is the partnership accomplishment ac-complishment of all Republicans ev- erywhere and of hundreds of thous-i thous-i anils of well-wisheVs of good government govern-ment regardless of past party affiliations. affilia-tions. To all of these now we appeal, be-I be-I cause it is the mutual responsibility of us all who will share alike la th consequent mutual benefit of good government. The plan of limiting campaign contributions to $1.0(10 adopted by :y.i? national organization, has left your party unmortgaged. It lias been a most advanced step iH placing (he business of politics on the highest plane, and has brought an interest on the part of thousands who never before have been concerned concern-ed with polities. Some, weeks li. fore election It was apparent that !l:e expenses provided for in our budget, with the strictest economy, would exceed the contributions, contri-butions, but w "i re unwilling either eith-er to leave undone mil legitimate effort ef-fort essential to complete success or to change the method of raising the money. We were then sure and we are now sure that every Republican delres that the expenses of the campaign cam-paign be distributed in this manner. Your presidential campaign this year cost no more than that of 1 9 1 G when a dollar went nearly twice as far as It does today. Four years ago the bulk of the campaign fund came from 750 contributors, con-tributors, while this year the approximately appro-ximately $2.nrm.non contrbuted o date for the pro alenl ia.l election has come from aO.ODO givers. The victory rnn. the raising of the deficit would lie r :iV Indeed, if your committee tt feline to ahandrn the polirv r f Vn(.ri,,.r down th - a v r-age r-age of con t r 1 ' r I ion . This we are !e-(cvmiucd !e-(cvmiucd not to do. 7 was a P';ht of all (he people. Th" result speaks for II' elf. II lifted a burden from th--minds of millions and points the way to better and happier days. We ! ask now for that additional help ! from all which is merited both by the successful conclusion of the effort ef-fort and by the consequent contribution contri-bution to the welfare of all our people peo-ple and the glory of the nation. Let us now have help from every American who is grateful for the vie-, tory and all it means to the country. It might well be in the nature of a thanksgiving offering for the return ! to a certainly safe, sane, constitutional constitu-tional progressive government. Let us by general and generous giving, put the seal of approval up-' on the policy of putting a national j administration in power free from any possible embarrassment of special spec-ial obligation to any man of group of men. Let us make the contribution contribu-tion whether large or small, and whether or not we have heretofore given, commensurate with our means and our appreciation, always within the maximum limit heretofore fixed. Let us get our names on the corner cor-ner stone of a sturdier political struc ture upon the roll of those who have helped make possible a campaign of which, in methods and result we j may as Republicans and patriots be justly proud. ! Most earnestly we urge that this be given quickly, that your committee commit-tee may be enabled to discharge the j party's obligation and turn further : constructive work in behalf of par-I par-I ty and country Republican Nation-' Nation-' al Committee, Will T. Hayes, Chairman. |
