Show THIRD RED CROSS ROLL CALL ; r ; - ; ; , j ; ! ' " , - C) I v" if 1 - f On huridrQr ?nd thirty-five memberships mem-berships were secured by he little, workers of the Red Cross drive, This speaks for lots of hard work on their part, but was disappoint' ing to them, as they expected to get at least one hundred and seventy-five. The time has been extended Indefinitely, In-definitely, however, and we sincerely sincere-ly hope that everyone will do their utmost to raise this list ug to, and beyond their expectations. One section of the town has, we understand, been dubbed by these little workers, "pikers row", and while the truth often hurts, as long as the cap fits we are obliged to wear. It, ' Many do not know that the Am. erican Red Cross is a United States institution and do not realize what it means to us, even though the war is over. This isn't excusing anyone, any-one, however, and as nothing but your membership is required. There are very few who cannot afford to subscribe. The Chapter also wishes to correct cor-rect the general impression that Mrs. Wm. Dobson is receiving a sal- I alary for her services rendered in behalf be-half of the Red Cross. Mrs. Dobson is ever willing to render them any service possible, absolutely free of charge. They also wish to extend their thanks to the Victory theatre, as they have willingly given them all the help they could in the way of "Slides'' etc., also free of charge. There is keen competition among the little girls in solictlng memberships. member-ships. Their efforts have been high !y praised by those in charge and will tip in the future, we hope, more suitably rewarded by the public, The little workers are; Maxine Bardsley Lillian Stoker Margaret O'Rourke Arvilla Muir Mary Vincent Ora Edwards Ireeta Atkins Gertrude Baxter |
