S.irah Ellen Denny Den-ny has celebrated her one hundredth birthday anniversary. Sitting on the porch nt the homo of her daughter. Mrs. Dave Line, she smoked her old-fashioned old-fashioned clay pipe and spent the day telling her friends of her early life. She has used tobacco since she was sixteen years old. and says she believes be-lieves tobacco Is what "kept her alive." Mrs. Denny was born in Tish'miingo county. Tennessee, but has been a resident resi-dent of Washington for many years. She gets about without the aid of a cane and does not wear glasses. She has traveled over 1: different states, behind a team of oxen for the most part. |
