Show Democrats Nominate Judicial Convention Held in Milford Greenwood for Judge; Murdock for County Attorney The convention of Democrats of the Fifth Judicial convention was held in the Milford opera house, at 11 a.m. yesterday, with about two dozen delegates dele-gates in attendance. Judge Pike of Juab county, was made chairman and Professor Maeser of Murdock Academy, Acad-emy, Beaver, secretary of the convention. con-vention. Preliminary work having been cleaned out of the way expeditiously, expe-ditiously, the convention proceeded to nominate its candidate for the judgeship. But one name, that of I Joshua Greenwood, the present incumbent incum-bent was put before the convention, (Continued on page 10) DEMOCRATS NOMINATE (Continued from page 1) i and by a unanimous vote, Judge Greenwood wae nominated to succeed himself. Likewise, for the office of District Attorney, but one candidate was put forward, O. A. Murdock of Beaver, who was also placed in nomination by acclamation. The convention was one of the most orderly and business-like ever held in the county, and it required but one hour before noon, to organize the convention, nominate and elect the nominees. Delegates attending the meeting were as follows; Juab, Orsen Carzier, Charles Haynes, Sheriff Dan Martin, Judge Edw.Pike; Beaver, Professor R. Maeser, N. P. Ipsen, Sheriff R. B. Cutler, O. A. Murdock, Allen Hedges; Millard, R. W. King, Sheriff Sam Dorrity Jr., Sam Dorrity Sr., H. W. Beckstrand, Sidney Teeples, Edwin Brown, Earnest Carling, F. W. Bean, Wm. McBride; Iron, William Lund, Mr. Adams, Washington, I. O. McFarland. With three Sheriffs and two deputies in attendince, it is easy to understand the tameness of the meeting. |
