Show Minersville Auspicious Opening 6f Fall School Term Junior High Inaugurated Water System Improved (Wil T. Morris, Special Correspondent) After an inspirational two days ol Institute work and one day devoted tc "preparedness" the Minersville schools opened Thursday morning with a radiant dawn of promise. There if considerable change in the personel of the faculty, only three of last year's teachers returning. This year's faculty consists of Mr. Stewart, Principal of Schools; Mr. Joseph, Mr. Larsen and Miss Yoemans in the high school, Mr. Morris Principal of the Elementary grades and Supervisor of Music; Miss Kling, Miss Meldrum and Miss Bracken in the Elementary grades. The very air is vibrant with hope and enthusiasm from the faculty; the new cement pavement and gravel walks, attention to supplies including library books, and a number of other improvements leave no doubt as to the active interest of the County Board and Superintendent. A similar interest inter-est and enthusiasm is well earned and deserved from parents and patrons and there is little deubt that is will be forthcoming. One striking feature is that we have been successful in getting a tenth grade department. The broad list of subjects offered can be nothing less than a pleasant surprise and efficient instruction in them at home the realization real-ization at cherished dreams. The world is moving very fast and any-one who says that big things cannot be done is usually interrupted by someone some-one doing them. After a year of somewhat stormy history, the Minersville water system seems to have emerged into the sunlight sun-light of future permanency. All the defective pipe has been removed and the water from the spring will now ue at the disposal of the patient people. |
