Show 91-Loop Road Is i Economic Factor A very good example of the economic eco-nomic value of the Milford-Delta highway paralleling the tracks is afforded by a recent experience of j Frank A. Stewart, local feedstuffs I dealer. Bringing a 5-ton load from ' Delta and traveling at night, Mr. Stewart made the trip here in 3 i hours after making the unloaded trip northbound in only 2Y hoi i Having made a previous trip by way of Beaver and Fillmore, and I (only a few days previously, he was I in an admirable position to make comparisons and found that he had saved two hours time, 50 miles dis-I dis-I tance and 10 gallons of gasoline by traveling the 91-W loop road, only partially complete as it is! Furthermore, and important in the eyes of friends who argue that the route would make a straight, fast and safe road second to none in the state, is the remark of Mr. Stewart that at. one place he set the throttle of his truck at 45 miles an hour, took his foot off the accelerator ac-celerator and for 27 miles his speedometer varied not more than three miles an hour! Over the 10 mile stretch between the Milford airport to the Millard county line it is nothing to make 50 miles an hour with his heavily loaded truck, Mr. Stewart says. |
