Show Former Milford Girl Weds In California The following writeup, appearing appear-ing in the July 6 issue of the Nevada Ne-vada City Nugget, semi-weekly newspaper published at Nevada City, California, concerns the marriage mar-riage of Miss Barbara Jefferson, more popularly known to her friends as "Dolly", daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson, former for-mer residents of Milford, where the bride was born and received her early schooling: "At a quiet but beautiful service in the Methodist church Tuesday evening Miss Barbara Jefferson became the bride of Mr. Chester R Peterson with Rev. H. H. Buckner performing the ceremony. Relatives Rela-tives and close friends were present pre-sent for the impressive service. "The charming little bride was given in marriage by her father Mr. Fred Jefferson. Promptly at five o'clock the bride entered the church on the arm of her father to the tune of Mendelsohn's wedding march and were met at the altar by the groom. Mr. Lawrence Peterson, brother of the groom, was best man. Mrs. Robinson was matron of honor. The bride carried' a boquet of Cecil Breuner roses and for-get-me-nots, and was attired "in a white lace dress. The matron of honor wore a pink striped chiffon dress and carried a corsage of pansies Miss Margaret Phariss, organist, played Mendelsohn's wedding march and "Loves Old Sweet Song", during dur-ing the service. "The bride came to Nevada City five years ago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson, and gaduated with the high school class of 1934. She is a member and officer of-ficer of Neva Rebekah lodge, No 119, and is an accomplished young woman. "The groom was born at North Bloomfield and has been reared in Nevada City. He graduated with the class of 1933 from the local high school and is a member of Oustomah lodge of Odd Fellows Both are popular with the younger set in this city. "After the wedding Mr. and Mrs Peterson left for a short honeymoon. honey-moon. They will reside in a cozy home, prepared by the groom, on Gethsemene street. Many beauti-"fuj beauti-"fuj gifts were presented to the newly wedded couple." |
