Show Cedar Busy With BlackHawkPlans Cedar Ciy is fast getting prepared pre-pared for the Blackhawk Encampment Encamp-ment and Cedar City Roundup, which is scheduled for August 4 to 7 inclusive. Extensive preparations are being made to provide entertainment and accomodations for the fifteen or twenty thousand people that are expected for this promises to be the largest celebration of any kind ever to be held in southern Utah. All former residents have been sent personal invitations to attend the homecoming round-up. Thousands Thous-ands will bring camping equipment and stay all four days. Fuel, water lights, and other facilities will be ( furnished on the B. A. C. college ; campus for all who plant to come equipped and a veritable tent city is expected to spring up at this spot. The first evening a spectacular pageant will be given, portraying ' events of history. Combined with 'this is an elaborate musical festival. festi-val. It will present an array of Cedar City's best talent, including the Branch Agricultural college symphony orchestra, several choruses chor-uses of well-trained voices and ; other instrumental and voice se-1 lections. A huge stage and outdoor theatre is being constructed with a seating capacity of several thousand where three or four free programs will be given each day These programs will be furnished by towns all over the state and will consist of the highest class entertainment enter-tainment each town has to offer There will be three days of rodeo which will be comprised of the finest stock and high class performance per-formance to be obtained in the west. A mammoth parade will be staged, consisting of floats, bands j and other features from all over ! the state. A thrilling fireworks , display costing several hundred dollars will be presented. There will be an Indian pow-wow, boxing and wrestling matches, carnivals and dances in fact, no details have been overlooked which go to make a celebration a success. |
