Show Funeral At Beaver For Baker Child Funeral services were- held .Tuesday .Tues-day afternoon at the Beaver West ward chapel for Joan, three-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aivin H. Baker, with interment in the Beaver cemetery. A large number of Milford friends were in attendance, attend-ance, the family having made their ; home here at various times in the ! past several years when Mr. Baker l has been director of music in the j local schools. Speakers at the services were . Bishop E. H. Bird of Milford and ! S. Taylor Farnsworth, president of ; Beaver L. D. S. stake. The invo-i invo-i cation was by former President T : L. Gunn and the benediction by Rudolph Ru-dolph Nielsen of Milford. Henry ' F. Baker, grandfather of the dead child, dedicated the grave. Musi-'. Musi-'. cal numbers included a selection by a male quartet, composed of Chase Murdock, Milo Baker, Kent Morgan Mor-gan and Cannon Thompson; a vio- lin solo by Harold Baker and a vo- cal solo by Miss Carlie Murdock. The little girl last Saturday af-' af-' ternoon suffered injuries which re-I re-I suited in her death a half hour later as she was being rushed to Cedai City. She had accompanied her mother to town on a shopping trip and occupied the back seat of the car where reposed some purchases made for the child and which also was occupied by a friend of the child's mother. Shortly after the departure of the friend from the car the little tot fell from the car while it was in motion and it is thought that a wheel must have j passed over the body though death was pronounced as being due to ' concussion as the child's head struck the oiled highway. The sup-' position is that the back door of tlie car was only half-latched as the friend left the car and the little victim may have attempted to complete com-plete the closing. Mrs. Baker and the three children chil-dren only a few weeks ago left Milford to spend the summer at their Beaver home, located on -hit;b-j way 21, west of Beaver, Mr. Baker continuing his summer music work; in Milford while visiting frequently! with his family. He was 'up there: at the time of the accident, havinn! remained at home to do some weed-j ing. ! |
