I Election was over and the Republicans Repub-licans had made a clean sweep in Beaver county, every candidate on the ticket having a clean majority except Judge Burton. 0. A. Mur-dock, Mur-dock, Democratic candidate for district judge, received a majority of 268 votes. Judge Burton, however, how-ever, was elected by about 1000 votes coming from other counties in the district. Coolidge and Dawes won over their opponents in the greatest battle of ballots ever staged. -George Dern was elected governor over Charles R. Mabey by about 4,500 majority. He was the only Democrat elected in the state ticket. . Andrew Morris was elected state representative, running against Robert White; George Lunfc was elected district attorney over Gro-ver Gro-ver Giles; Herbert Eyre was elected elect-ed 4-year commissioner over John Eyre; Fi-ed Levi for 2-year commissioner com-missioner over Joe Smith; and W. F. Knox, county attorney, over C. T. Woodbury. All winning candidates candi-dates were Republicans. Robert La Follette, Independent candidate for president, was given a huge vote in Milford, being credited with 237 votes to Coolidge's 259 and John W. Davis' 92. Miners-ville Miners-ville gave LaFollette 17 votes and the rest of the county only a vote here and there to make up his county vote of 287, as against 989 for Coolidge and 578 for Davis. 1 I Mrs. George Litchfield had entertained at a Hallowe'en party in honor of her daughter Margaret and two nieces, Catherine and Irene. Those enjoying the party were Dorothy Brooks, Helen Carlson, Carl-son, iLeona Sherwood Eva Jlen-nings, Jlen-nings, Ina Smith, Audrey Raines, Margaret Peterson, Marie Carlson and the. three guests of honor. The Neighborhood club of the Flat and Pumping section had held their annual .Hallowe'en celebration celebra-tion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cates on the Demonstration farm. Mr. and Mrs. Cates were assisted throughout the evening by Mrs. F. Gospill, Mrs. Walter Cook and Mrs. Jacob Weber. The Saturday Bridge club ladies were entertained by Mrs. Charles Moore. Mrs. William .Fernley received re-ceived the prize for points, Mrs. Jack Williams the prize for honors and Mrs. J. R. Murdock the consolation conso-lation prize. Mrs. J. M. Kinney had been a delightful hostess to the ladies of the Mah Jongg club. Mrs. Charles R. Parrish was honored ,with the high score and Mrs. Frank Farmer received consolation. Mrs. George Knutson had entertained enter-tained in honor of her son and daughter, Keath and Dorothy. The Hallowe'en idea was carried out and each child was dressed in an original costume very fitting for the occasion. Those present were Bertha Schow, Lorain Bowman, Kthel Tanner, Beth and Dorothy Bailey, Rose Sterling, Billy Tri-bole Tri-bole and Donald Moore. Mrs. Harry Coon had entertained entertain-ed at her home. A delightful time was spent telling fortunes. Miss Ardath Johnson had enter- , tained at her home. A delightful time was spent playing parchesi. Those present were , Mr. and Mrs. i Harry Coon, LaMar Outzen and i Miss La Priell Clements. j Mrs. Jack McKeon had enter-1 tained at a Hallowe'en party in j honor of her three sons, Jack, Max and Howard. j Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sutton had j announced the arrival of a baby-boy, baby-boy, born November 1.
